Tariff will remain the same as in 2019

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine does not plan to increase the tariff on electric energy for the population this year. This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal at a meeting of the Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services.

He also added that this is an important indicator, and it is agreed with President Vladimir Zelensky.

“We do not intend to change the cost of electricity for the population this year. This is an important indicator, it has been agreed with the president, and I think this issue does not even need to be discussed,” Shmygal said.

Recall, earlier it was reported that NKREKU proposes to increase electricity tariffs for the population. It was reported that such measures could bring an additional 50 billion hryvnia per year.

However, later the commission denied information on the proposal to increase electricity tariffs for the population. The regulator said that at the moment tariffs for the population are regulated by a special decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Also acting Energy Minister Olga Buslavets confirmed that the electricity tariff for the population will remain unchanged until the end of the year.
